THE BOTTOM LINE

A remarkable breakthrough in bridge safety is unfolding, thanks to the dedicated efforts of a scientist from the University of Houston. His technology is shining a light on some of the world’s most vulnerable bridges and exploring exciting ways to ensure their longevity and safety.

It was discovered that by merging radar and satellite imaging techniques into risk assessments, engineers can proactively identify bridges that may be at risk of structural issues well before they arise. This innovative approach transforms our understanding of bridge stability. By monitoring bridge stability from space, engineers can identify potential issues before they escalate into serious problems.

Do you know what else is monitored from up above? We are. 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” God is literally watching us from space in order to find human hearts with “cracks” in them to identify potential issues (sins) before they escalate into serious problems.

Notice that the writer of the Chronicles says that when God finds a “perfect” heart, He shows Himself strong on their behalf. Now, “perfect heart” doesn’t mean “sinless heart.” David was a man who struggled with sin on a daily basis—just like we do. But the Bible describes him as a “man after God’s own heart.” A perfect heart is a heart that knows Christ as Lord and Savior. Have you trusted Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and to give you a new, perfect heart?

The Bottom Line is this: God told Ezekiel, “ I will give them a new heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” Has Jesus done that for you?

It sure was good getting back into the pulpit Sunday after being away for two Sundays. There's no place I'd rather be than at Jackson Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning! I wish everybody felt that way!

Easter is just around the corner—it's April 5—just three Sundays away. In advance of Easter, there are two worship opportunities I hope you'll take advantage of. Our Maundy Thursday Service is April 2 at 6:30 PM. This year, I've invited Pastor Keith Joseph, pastor of Jackson First Baptist Church to be our speaker. Keith has been the pastor of FBC/Jackson for 12 years and has overseen incredible growth in numbers and ministries at the church. He is a an able communicator and you will be blessed by his message.

I hope you will join me at Jackson First Baptist Church for a community Good Friday Service at 6:00 PM. Speakers will include Chris Mullis, pastor at Stark Methodist Church, Steve Dudley, pastor of Jackson Nazarene Church, Pastor Keith Joseph and myself. This will be my third year to participate in this inspirational service.

It's great to be home!
